well i mean it was a sham investigation but on paper, they were still looking into it.
september 28, 2016 Strozk texts he's been called to Andy's office regarding thousands of emails on Weiners laptop. it's not clear when Andy McCabe found out about them.

On Nov 8, 2016 Comey says the review of those emails would result in no charges or change to his original recommendation.
