asked what the FBI had been able to verify in the dossier... the only thing he could think of was that they had verified that Carter (& Papadopoulis?) had traveled to Russia in the same time frame given in the dossier.

The question isn't what has been disproved yet, but whether they verified the hearsay evidence from an investigator who told them how motivated he was to keep Trump out, and who was being paid by the DNC & Hillary's campaign to dig up as much dirt on Trump as he could.
