There are too many who post for the attention and not for discussion.

I have, "made the board smaller" by rarely reading garbage from Silas, and virtually never reading beyond the subject line for the pickle. A few months ago I intentionally read beyond the subject line on one of pickle's missives. I thought maybe, just maybe he would have an intelligent comment. I was wrong. Have not intentionally read beyond his subject line since.

I have posted in disagreement with you, with Georgia, and with Tigrrrr on multiple occasions. That seems healthy and reasonable to me. Getting into a urinating contest with the pickle is just silly. Not sure why anyone does that.

It is also possible to have a civil debate with 90, on occasion. There are a few people with whom a healthy debate is possible.

Not so with most of the posters from the left.

There are other formats for message boards. The Virginia Tech messageboard has a different format that allows for older posts to stay at the top of the page, as long as there are additional posts to it.

Stupid posts without additional comment quickly sink to the bottom.

Posts as old as several months can still be near the top of the board. That may mitigate the impact of the dregs on this board. Just a thought.
