I saw a report yesterday that claimed all four judges were appointed by republican presidents. Don't know if it is true.
The report indicated that separate judges approved each of the four applications (original and three extensions).
Again, don't know if it is true.
Hey, you don't have to persuade me that the government abuses its surveillance powers. The Snowden document leaks confirmed that. But Trump just signed a law to expand the government's surveillance powers, so it is pretty much impossible to present him as a champion of the fight against abuse.
