your point Comey said; which is true, that he serves at the pleasure of the president and can be fired at any time for no reason at all.

authoritarian would be enforcing obedience at the expense of personal freedoms. not sure what personal freedoms trump is limiting. at least not in any measurable amount greater than recent past presidents.
