think that capital punishment is needed in the US today... but there is still a major difference between a justice department that makes an honest mistake and kills an innocent person and an abortionist (& the politicians and legal system backing him/her up in their crime against humanity) deliberately killing an innocent human being and they are fully aware that the person has committed no crime.
