How about the young man is 18 years old, he's given up his season year in high school to play with his brother, he playing at a level he never experienced before, he's having to study subjects under conditions with which he is not familiar, and so yes, maybe he is a little frustrated with where things are with regard to the lack of success he may have envisioned this far into the season, both individually and as a team. That sounds normal.
Neither Jontay nor any of the other Porters "seem like" the quitter type. It takes time for most freshman to adjust, and this one came in at 17 years old. It appears Jontay is used to playing a certain way, more skills oriented, than elite college level tough. You don't just flip a switch and suddenly have the strength and skills to play rugged inside. You sound like you are making specious claims based upon your gut, and are making superficial judgments and trying to divine their intentions. Are you sure your stomach discomfort isn't because of what you ate?
As to Michael Jr. he is under the professional care of a world class surgeon, and following medical advice. How that makes him soft, I have no idea.
