Whether or not the rarity happens (going from bottom 4 to top team in one year) or not, doesn't change my argument:

For the tenth time, the SEC GETS TO SET THE CRITERIA FOR SELECTING THEIR TEAMS and thus giving themselves the best chance at winning.

I'm not close minded because your reasoning is weak.
