Chayce isn’t transferring. He’s staying in school and “retiring” from football. He had moved to tight end, anyway.
Illinois is bringing in two quarterbacks in the 18 class, possibly three. Likely a fifth year transfer, too. New OC Rod Smith could bring the former starter at Arizona. Smith is a RichRod protege offensively and that means a dual threat qb. Jeff George was hardly that. He has graduated and can transfer and play immediately.
Illinois also hired St. Louis high school coach Cory Patterson today which could give them a really good shot at 19 qb Isiah Williams.
