to the FBI-without consulting other members of the Juficiary committee. Feinstein released the Simpson transcript (10 hours of testimony) - which Simpson has pushed for since giving the testimony- to bring transparency and to call out grassley’s and graham’s bull****.

Two top Senate Republicans announced Friday that they have officially requested the Justice Department open a criminal investigation into Christopher Steele, the key figure in the anti-Trump dossier that roiled the 2016 election.

Sens. Charles E. Grassley and Lindsey Graham said Mr. Steele appears to have misled the FBI in trying to push the contents of the dossier, which the two senators said violates federal law.

Mr. Grassley said that given some Trump campaign figures have been hit with criminal charges for lying to the FBI, it is fair that Mr. Steele — a Democratic-backed operative — face the same scrutiny.

“I don’t take lightly making a referral for criminal investigation,” Mr. Grassley said. But, as I would with any credible evidence of a crime unearthed in the course of our investigations, I feel obliged to pass that information along to the Justice Department for appropriate review.

“Everyone needs to follow the law and be truthful in their interactions with the FBI,” he said. “If the same actions have different outcomes, and those differences seem to correspond to partisan political interests, then the public will naturally suspect that law enforcement decisions are not on the up-and-up.

“Maybe there is some innocent explanation for the inconsistencies we have seen, but it seems unlikely. In any event, it’s up to the Justice Department to figure that out,” Mr. Grassley said.

He and Mr. Graham released a letter written Thursday officially making the referral, which they said was accompanied by a classified memo laying out “certain communications between Christopher Steele and multiple U.S. news outlets regarding the so-called ‘Trump dossier’ that Mr. Steele compiled on behalf of Fusion GPS for the Clinton Campaign and the Democratic National Committee and also provided to the FBI.”

Mr. Graham said a special counsel should take a look at Mr. Steele’s behavior.

“After reviewing how Mr. Steele conducted himself in distributing information contained in the dossier and how many stop signs the DOJ ignored in its use of the dossier, I believe that a special counsel needs to review this matter,” Mr. Graham said.

Last week, Republican Senators Chuck Grassley and Lindsey Graham decided to commit a crime against the United States. There is no other legitimate way to characterize their decision to push for criminal charges against Trump Russia dossier author Christopher Steele, a man they know to be innocent, simply because Steele tried to expose Donald Trump’s crimes. This made Grassley and Graham co-conspirators in Trump’s treasonous Russia plot. It blew up in their faces today.

Grassley and Graham had spent all year pushing for Trump’s Russia plot to be exposed, but both have made shocking one-eighty degree turns in recent weeks. Suddenly they’re both willing and eager Trump puppets, which means they’re Russian puppets, which has led a whole lot of people to ask if they’re now being blackmailed by Russia. They pushed for criminal charges against Steele partly in an attempt at suppressing the long-lingering transcripts from Glenn Simpson, the man who hired Steele to assemble the dossier. That just backfired.

Senator Dianne Feinstein, the ranking Democrat on the Senate Judiciary Committee, went ahead and unilaterally released those transcripts to the public today. She did this without asking the Republican-controlled committee to vote on the matter, and without even notifying them. Her legal justification for doing so: none, really, except that all bets are now off anyway. With two of the most prominent Republicans on the committee now committing crimes to try to suppress the Trump-Russia investigation, there was really nothing left to prevent Feinstein from blowing it all up by releasing the transcripts.

Chuck Grassley is now publicly whining about Dianne Feinstein’s move, which means he has no idea how to respond, which means he’s lost this battle. Whether Grassley and Lindsey Graham have begun trying to prosecute Trump’s detractors because they’re being blackmailed, or simply because they wanted to join a treasonous conspiracy against the United States for fun, their efforts are already backfiring. They got their comeuppance today, and it’s just the start. If this continues to backfire on Graham and Grassley, they could end up in prison along with the rest of the traitors.
