series in the first half - lead to a score. Second half, Smith back in the game even though everybody saw Chase was doing what Smith could not. Chase only got back in the game because of Smith’s injury. If not for Smith’s injury, Chase would have stayed on the bench and Missouri would have lost. Lost and not been bowl eligible.

Pinkel’s loyalty to the starter, almost lost the season.
