get one of the top 16 national seeds. Those teams automatically host the first two rounds as long as they have a facility and accommodations that meets minimum NCAA standards, which we do.
I guess you really mean what do we need record wise. It's hard to say because we don't know how the other teams we are competing with will finish. But I think if we go 12-4 in the conference, 24-5 overall in the regular season, and have 3 wins against top 20 teams and several more against top 40 type teams we will be in very good shape to get something in the 13-16 range. Even 11-5 and 23-6 will have us in the conversation, if we still have the 3 top 20 wins and 3 more in the top 40. 10-6 and 22-7 and we are not likely to get a national seed, although it could happen if the teams we are fighting have soft resumes too. Just my educated guess.
The nice thing is, if it is close, we would have several more opportunities to get signature wins in the SEC tournament.
The likelihood we can go 12-4 (or 11-5 at worst) in conference play increased significantly with the win yesterday. But we need everyone to stay healthy the rest of the way. Everyone.
