Are black children taught to be proud of their black heritage?
Are gaze taught that their sexual orientation is something to be proud of?
Are girls told that their femininity (fat hillary excepted) is something to be cherished?
Is all that good...? Is self esteem no longer important, or is it just silly when talking about the culture and traditions of your country?
Why are illegal mexicans allowed to be proud of their hispanic heritage and proudly fly the mexican flag in the united states?
Seems everyone has a right to be proud of their heritage except americans.
Should the schools tell black children that their race is nothing special? That it is NOT extraordinary in any way? Should the schools do what they do with america and constantly drive home all the negative things that people in their race have been responsible for over the last 500 years?
Are blacks exceptional?
Should gaze be taught that they should feel guilty about their special circumstances, or as with american traditions, should they be told of all the cruddy things gaze have done since 1492?
Are gaze exceptional?
What about all the awful things women have done in 500 years? Should little girls be told that over and over and over and over again?
Are women exceptional?
Blacks are told what great contributions black people have made to the world.
Gaze are told of all the wonderful things gaze have done and continue to do.
Women are told of the enormous contributions they have made since mankind appeared on earth.
But americans are told mostly of genocide (were romans, mongols, carthaginians, guilty of genocide as well. How about certain tribes of injuns and africans?)
Americans are told of the horrors of slavery we inflicted on other peaceful cultures. As if no one had ever enslaved a vanquished foe before and that slavery only means white oppressors enslaving blacks.
I am not suggesting that the sins of our nation be ignored. I am not suggesting that the contributions of others be downplayed.
It just seems out of balance to me. That we must teach americans that we are a bad people with a bad culture and bad history.
And white americans especially.
And white male americans more so.
Should black children be taught first and foremost about the demographics of crime and SAT scores, like all kids are now taught first and foremost about the evils of america?
Is america exceptional?
