I have examined the options that Man has put forth these many millenia for me that is the one that most rings true. I further think Man dresses up the Spirit in terms of morality tales and fears and magic. And that fine and cool enough. Conversation NYE with gal who teaches kindergarten in the United Arab Emirates regarding the idea that Allah is not too very concerned with your being a good boy as much as the Judeo Christian tradition does b/c Allah is more the Beyond Beyond God identity while Yahweh et al fall into the Demiurge levels of celestial beings. It was a cool conversation.
