We have played a lot of high pressure teams for certain but usually there is a conscious effort to limit hand checks and contact on the perimeter early on in the last several seasons. We have not been the beneficiary of that this season. Virtually all of our competitors runs have happened when contact is initiated and allowed by their defenders.
We have to get stronger, yes. We need to get more strategically creative, yes. No question about it but there are stretches of these games that are simply brutal from an officiating standpoint. Only reason we won SFA game was they finally decided to make the proper calls. Kevin Durant played absolutely terrible fundamental defense yesterday on Lebron James. James absolutely made the right play based on bad position by KD in each of those possessions yet nothing was called.....terrible basketball
Not all games have been called like this though. I have seen stretches in other games that swing too far to the other side of the issue. We just have been on the wrong side of these whistle s far this season. Hopefully these are just growing pains and our experiences will benefit us greatly in conference season
