But the following are reasons that I am gathering.
1) they have not been sent a LOI to turn in.
A) because there may be a higher rated recruit in that spot which the team is waiting on.
B) because there is no guarantee that they get the grades needed to qualify.
2) they are waiting to see what changes with assistant coaching. If a team issued a LOI to the athlete, he may have a guaranteed spot. Without that risk, there is no benefit to the athlete to give up all rights and recourses if there are coaching changes.
3) they have a ceremony planned and the timing hadn't worked out. Or they were out if town yesterday and should be able to fax it in today (uga has 1 of these).
