We already know they tried to influence. Impact of that influence would take great study.
Potential charges against Trump and his campaign are not tied to how effective the meddling or attempts to influence turned out to be but that the Trump folks cooperated with and/or conspired with Russians.
Nineteen Russians met with Trump folks. NINETEEN !!. Kushner is under fire as is Donnie Jr.
FBI went to fledgling Trump campaign and warned them that foreign agents may serve to influence them and to inform the FBI if such attempts were made. THAT was for the benefit of/protection of the United States of America. By the time of that FBI warning, Trump folks had ALREADY met with Russians - and said NOTHING. If fact, they denied it until records of such meetings came to light. Trump lied blatantly about this.
