could stop playing today and still be the #1 pick. Yet, he continues to play his heart out for Duke, even though he gains nothing from it and risks a possible injury. He's honoring the commitment he made to the best of his ability.
If MPJ becomes healthy enough to play (cleared by doctors), then he should absolutely suit up and play. He committed to the program and sold a dream to the fans (season ticket holders) and players/recruits he brought with him. There's potential for injury with any player, but IF he's cleared to play, then he owes it (yes, owes it) to the school/fans/team/players/coaches to suit up and play.
MPJ seems like a good & honorable person, and I think he'll do the right thing if he's physically able to.
