1. Rutgers was nothing, Schiano made them into something.
2. There are lots of people that think Schiano is a good coach.
3. Schiano's career is now ruined and over, and this is directly because Clay Travis' campaigned against him.
4. Clay Travis abused his power in the media by forwarding his case against Schiano.
5. Tennessee will now not be able to hire a good coach because 'everyone' hates what was done with Schiano.
Clay Travis' case:
1. Per in court testimony by Penn State's McQueary, Schiano was a direct eye witness of child rape by Sandusky. (and apparently did nothing about it at the time)
2. Schiano went 68-67 while at Rutgers, but only 20-48? in the Big East - his 'turnaround' of Rutgers is therefore suspect.
3. Schiano did poorly at Tampa Bay, released a QBs medical records and created a 'player mutiny'
4. Schiano is not a good enough coach for his shortcomings to be dismissed.
5. Schiano is a bad hire for TN.
6. Travis is not personally responsible for bringing down Schiano, it was the fact that a material percentage of TN fans agreed with his arguments that ultimately doomed the hire.

The only part of this that I find annoying is that Gottlieb appears to assert that a 'good TN fan' should go along with the hire, regardless of all the issues, just so as not to 'embarrass' the University of Tennessee. The ole 'decorum is the better part of intelligence' angle.
Yuck.
There is too much bad football to suffer already without putting up with dumb decisions by the AD.
Rocky Top got this right.
Hopefully they'll get the coach they really want and we'll still beat the heck out of them year in and year out...
