a coach wins just enough to not get fired. Then no one is satisfied, but at the same time not too dissatisfied. When a program is after all, a winning program, although with fits and starts. No one wants to fire a coach with a winning program. Especially not a 'true son'. But in the final analysis, with just enough mediocrity to salve open wounds, twine with bailing wire enough to hold a program together. Perception then becomes more important than reality as long as the perception is the program is headed in the right direction even if it is not.
