that he should not have been guarding. I thought some of the matchups defensively last year were our biggest problem. We did not have the personnel to match up defensively. So if that is a perception, that could be part of it. Even though I don't think he should be getting a lot of minutes on this team, I think he stay active, moves his feet and hustles defensively.
The best thing about this team last night was the superior defensive matchups throughout most of last night. In the first five minutes it was pretty cool to see Jontay guarding a little guy on the perimeter, and being quick enough to stay with him, then stuffing him when he tried to sidestep and take a three point shot. He got called for the foul, but it looked like a clean block to me.
Teams are going to have to get creative to figure out how to overcome the height and athleticism out there this year on this team.
