I do think we have a long way to go to be competitive

with teams like Texas A&M, but against most of our schedule, we'll be fine.
Yes, Puryear will struggle against teams with legit length, but our other bigs will match up okay to open up some shots for him.
Phillips has a small role on this team, so his deficits won't hold us back that much. I think the only reason he played as much as he did was that we were up by 15 or 20 points.
Still scratching my head at CVL. He tries, but what does the staff see in him out there? Maybe he starts to set up the sub patterns to get some combinations that Cuonzo wants.
I was pleased. We handily beat a legit P5 program, never trailing in the game. That's something we simply have not been able to do for the past three years. And all of this without our preseason all-American player! I'll take it.
