Smuggling in Southern AZ is highly organized. Illegals do not wander across the border. The are conducted by "Coyotes". Besides people, there's a massive amount of drugs coming across the border. Ranchers in SouthernAZ carry more weapons than the Earps & Clantons did in the 1879's. Many ranchers do not venture out at night. And more than one ranch house has been abandoned because of the amount of smuggling traffic. Maybe a wall isn't needed, maybe machine gun emplacements everty fifty feet with interlocking fields of fire and orders to shoot on sight would be a more effective solution.
