Now imagine Russia stole your computer and Donnie traded his guitar for it. You've got your answer about how it's a crime. Plus, it is something of value received from a foreign government to influence an election and that's illegal too.

You're right, there is no "proof" yet. At least not that we've seen. We are seeing an increasing amount of evidence though and today was just the beginning.
