would have needed to weather the same media blitz.

You think the media is after him because they hate him. The media is after Trump because of his daily gaffes and embarrassments. No other candidate would make themselves out to be an arrogant jackass on the daily, therefore, the media wouldnt be reporting the news -- as you see it, Trump's Crucifixion.
