cops are free to ask you where you are traveling to and from. you're free to not answer. yes it's a bit of a game asking you all the questions he did; however it's pretty standard fare to ask similar questions of anyone that is stopped. asking probing questions is good police work. i'd much rather have officers trying to see if there's some other crime afoot rather than just stopping you. giving you a ticket and sending you on your way. that's an officer that's primarily interested in making the government revenue.
