Make a common sense law saying clinically diagnosed crazy people can't legally be sold guns. Do it today. Make it harder for them to get them at least. That complexity in obtaining in many cases is enough deterrent to prevent them getting them.

Easier to grab your Mom's credit card and buy one than go figure out who the "gun dealer" dude is.
