But you can make it illegal for certain people to own or carry guns. Violent Criminals, people with diagnosed severe mental illnesses.

You can make free mental health care available for people who are unstable.

We can at least require by law that people who leave weapons where small kids can get them, lose their right to carry them and use them forever.

None of those would infringe on the card carrying rights of gun nuts to do whatever they do.

It won't prevent people from getting guns illegally either, but it does make a statement that as a society we actually give a ****.
