13th Amendment by themselves (not one Dem voted for it), which Prohibited Slavery; passed the 15th Amendment by themselves, which gave Blacks the Right to Vote; passed the Civil Rights Act of 1964 (took the Republican Congresss to pass since only a couple of Dems would vote for it).
Meanwhile, the Dems founded the KKK (with a leader of the KKK ["exaulted cyclops" as he was known] acting as a Democratic Party member of congress for a 9th consecutive terms as recently as 2006), enacted Jim Crow Laws (took Republicans to end that too) & eventually created Section 8 Housing to help perpetuate their "plantation" to present day.
The deck is stacked in favor of the Dems on this & there will be shouts of "Dixiecrat" this & "Dixiecrat" that, but you can't change the highly racial history of the Dem Party.
I do agree that a Republican contribution includes the War On Drugs.
