GW is supposedly caused by greenhouse gases which humans release into the atmosphere, particularly CO2. CO2 reacts with a certain wavelength range of solar energy reflected/radiated from the earth's surface. Solar energy is mostly reflected from land. It is mostly absorbed by sea water. So, the air over land is warmer than the air over the sea. Since seawater is warmed directly by the sun, the so-called anthropogenic cause of "global warming" does not affect sea temperatures--just air. Hurricanes derive their energy primarily if not exclusively from warm seawater. And, again, seawater is warmed directly by the sun. If seawater is warmer than usual it is getting more sun from either more solar activity or less cloud cover or both. If warm air powered hurricanes they wouldn't weaken and die over land. But they do.
