contradicts what you're trying to say and you don't even know it. The conflict came about BECAUSE OF SLAVERY. The south felt, with some justification, that most of their economy depended on keeping slavery. The babble about tariffs, which understandably they didn't like, is just a convenient way for southerners to appear not to defend their slaves.

And they're still doing it today.

Tell me, where is your family from?
