as of that would have made a difference, as the Blues had a exponentially better opinion they were developing with San Antonio!
That's a fact too. Not only did the AHL not want to go to KC &, in turn, why would the NHL them want to, but the potential ownership there & Indy couldn't afford it.
Blues are building a state of the art practice/entertainment/retail/office facility & complex in STL County & are in the midsole of the first phase of a three year phase renovation of Scottrade, including having already spent millions of theirs over this summer toward a significant renovation of Scottrade (will include an around the year Brewery & Beer Garden restaurant in adjoining the arena on a park St.
The Blues committed millions of their own money to these renovation in addition to the city & their lease with the City of STL runs until 2046 - they aren't going anywhere.
Their entire ownership group is made up of deep rooted STLians with more than one "STL blue blood family" in the group with significant interest (no pun intended).
The Blues enjoy one of the best markets in the League in terms of corporate interest, attendance & media ratings (fan interest), that also is one of the bigger & flourishing youth & amateur hockey markets in the country (thus the need for the new practice & amateur tournament hockey complex that will host multiple national & regional youth hockey tournaments, clinics, teams, etc). As part of that High School hockey is big in STL!
KC doesn't even exist as far as Hockey is concerned. Want a outrageously ridiculous notion!!
Edit: The Blues filed a Writ of Mandamus late this afternoon which will put an end to all this silly BS!
