They need these statue removal/free speech actions like they have done in other communities.
Antifa is there because they are attracted to the opportunities for violent behavior not unlike Machiavellians in A Clockwork Orange. Never let the opportunity for a riot go to waste.
The Nazis and KKK are there for the same reason. They want to seize a chance to align themselves with free speech and inject their white supremacy beliefs into the agenda. The media coverage puts them into the spotlight and the news media jumps at the chance to tie a free speech event into an alt reicht event.
