He isn't really an All Star game type player, in style, but he still stood out to me for several reasons. One was that when guys were down low on him, he used his body on theirs, got his hands up, jumped straight up, and caused miss after miss. That will translate. He made several hustle plays where he anticipated and got in passing lanes. Guys his size don't normally make those plays. He seemed to know how to swing the ball or hit cutters. He can shoot. I anticipate that he will be solid immediately. Tilmon appears to be more athletic and raw, so they may complement each other well. With MPJ being so skilled and explosive athletically, our front line should overwhelm most of the non-conference schedule, and it is hoped that we learn enough in the process to be ready for the physically tough SEC play that prepares teams well for NCAA tourney play.
