To finish up qualifying, he didn't join MU's basketball team until like 3 days before the Braggin Rights game that year.

Kind of weird that he was only the 4th McDonald's All American we had ever signed at that point, and two of them started at MU as 17 years olds (Chievous included as detailed below).
