I have read Steven Roach's stuff for many years, back to when he published a monthly comment for Morgan Stanley. He has lived in Asia for many years and has many high level contacts. Unlike Reuters or Bloomberg, he stays above the traditional anti-China propaganda that is so prevalent in western media. There are plenty of legitimate reasons to criticize China, but much of the propaganda is so over the top to be farcical.
