My point, which I think is simple enough to understand, is that last year's RPIs will not matter one iota when it comes time to seed teams in *next* year's tournament, which was one of your main concerns. I choose to let the current year's results form my opinions and would pray that members of the selection committee do the same.
Obviously, if some of these teams struggle to maintain a reasonable RPI next year, it will reflect poorly on Mizzou's. That's not rocket science, and we agree. But until such time that we see those low rankings, I think Pingeton's comment about finding a balance in scheduling is the most relevant one that I'm sure is shared by every coach in the country. For as much as you apparently want to see the non-con schedule loaded with Top 100 teams, it's just not always feasible.
