the key here is to go find out why - what economic, regulatory, monetary, social policies were and weren't around.
I'm shocked every single day that folks advocate not for policies that contribute to growth and wealth but for those assured to destroy the wealth once created.
Like "single-payer", the ACA, Medicaid, Medicare, massive military intervention, subsidized housing, "free" education nationalized, et. al.
All things that have and are continuing to ensure the US and more importantly, the people living here, become less wealthy, less able to consume.
we're like an organism eating itself from the inside.
