politicians would force industrial production to shut down, losing revenue and campaign contributions. Take solar, for instance. It's supposed to be a green solution to burning coal, but what about the waste producing solar panels? What happens when the panels have to be replaced? Will most people recycle them or throw them in a large dumpster?
Bottom line is that we are well beyond the tipping point, environmentally. We "need" our cars, we need the spoils of modern living. And ultimately, we will pay for it.
