Have a bad season? That's ok, you play in the SEC.
Have a good season? That's really impressive since you play in the SEC.
If you have a 6-6 SEC team and a 6-6 Big 12, guess would team would be ranked higher? The SEC team. Why? Because it's the SEC.
So ku being in the SEC would mean:
1. Their SOS would be much more impressive. So even if ku was bad, it's ok because "they play in the tough SEC." And if ku goes 6-6 and makes a bowl, well, that's extremely impressive because they went .500 in the SEC.
2. They would have every game on national TV (as opposed to the LHN or pay per view). So even if they sucked, they'd at least get national exposure every week. Works for Vandy.
3. They'd get more conference money. The SEC would provide ku would all the tools needed to help their football program.
