know about Kim Anderson's firing. The Porters had good connections to Mizzou's sports department. I could see someone reaching out to Porter Sr. asking; "Who would you think would be a good hire for Mizzou mens basketball?".

I have no doubt that Porter probably mentioned Coach Martin. This is not tampering because they were only asking his opinion. When it came to initial contact with Coach Martin, Mizzou could have said that he was recommended by Porter Sr.. Thus starting the ball rolling on bring Coaches Martin and Porter together.

Sounds plausible to me.
