The left-right spectrum has been perverted.

Liberals in history believed in the primacy of the individual and small government. They were on the left. Today's Democrats and Republicans are aithoritarian big government wonks that are far right.

Dems hijacked the word liberal and preted they are on the left, opposite Republicans. But they are different only in social policy and just as if not more authoritarian as their Republican counterparts.
