you can hold the stock in a US brokerage account.
The banking problem is that the companies can't maintain bank accounts to process their transactions and hold their capital. They are forming co-ops I believe.
The problem IMO is that they don't have any real barrier of entry until name brands become the trend and laws protect research and product development from being stolen.
