It was just yesterday that Ezekiel Elliot cited a lack of Columbia media fawning over him as a reason he chose tOSU and stayed "always a Tiger." Now one kid started with the "respect my decision - no interviews" crap and the rest are following. Of course they all tweet and retweet everything that's published about them so it's not like they don't crave the attention. They just want control of the message and a one-way adore-a-lationship.
I think it's also possible that so many of the "impartial" recruiting site experts and beat writers are acting as defacto rectruiters and extensions of the teams they cover that the kids and families are simply done with the recruiting when they say they are.
Maybe if the recruiting "experts" acted more like adults and less like fan boys they'd get a more welcoming reception from their subjects.
