much the bronze was worth by the pound and that statue would be gone by tomorrow morning.

Question? Has the honorable mayor done jack sh*t about the sbootings and murders on the streets of STL?

It's amazing how much energy we put into the things that don't really effect the day to day lives of suffering Americans. Now were in an all out battle against monuments that have been around for 100 years. Most of them are statues no one really notices. Most folks don't even know who the people are that the monuments were erected too. And they have absolutely zero impact on the pressing issues of the day.
We worry about a statue when innocent people are being gunned down in the streets in this city with one of the worst murder problems in the nation. We focus on a statue when poverty in some neighborhoods is approach 40 percent of the families living there.
We are outraged over monuments when unemployment of young black males in some areas is 50 percent, a fact certainly contributing to the violence besetting this city.
Consider this: Murders are raging throughout the nation, Terrorists are on the move as evidenced by the recent attack in England, Poverty is unabated, you just have to look at the number of people on food stamps. Much of the public is still strugging to find good jobs and are forced to work two and three jobs just to try to make ends meet. Families are struggling to pay for a college education, this when schools like the University of Missouri are in a financial freefall brought on by its own years of mispending your money.
And the whole health care issue is in a real crisis with insurance companies bailing out of a lot of states leaving families in an awful mess.
So we certainly have a lot of serious issues to address and find solutions for. But whats the order of the day. Some old statues that have gone unnoticed for decades.
These are things that Officials focus the publics attention on when they don't have solutions for the Big issues.
It's called a diversion!!!!!!!
