ended because of where it could lead.
THE LAST thing he wanted was an independent investigator (Mueller). Hence, the fallout with Sessions for recusing himself and opening the door for Mueller appointment.
Trump thought he could end it all by cornering and then firing Comey.
Yeah...he's just that phucking clueless.
