that God would have control over nature, why is it that he/she/it allows nature to often kill perfectly innocent people, destroy property, etc?

This also seems very inconsistent with the claim that God is loving and compassionate. I cannot grasp the apparent extreme inconsistency here. I trust you will attempt an explanation which will make sense to those of us who do not understand.

Lastly, I don't know if I'm an atheist or not, but I sure as hell know I hold any damn person in the world to a moral standard (by my definition of course) and I have a damn good basis for doing so. Just for the record.
