Totally unnecessary and fought for the glory and vanity of royals and potentates.
And clearly, the end of WWI led to WWII with the severe punishment of germany. It also established a lot of stuff in the mid east that we are still paying for.
Not to mention ten million soldiers and millions of civilians dead. To satisfy the ego of three idiot cousins in charge of russia, germany and england.
I have suggested before that the military is generally the best and brightest a country has to offer. After the tens of millions of deaths from two world wars, europe's gene pool is so shallow that angela merkle is the head of germany and similar dopes lead the other former powers in europe.
The cost of WWI is incalculable.
