Why make this so painful?

Why not tell everyone to cooperate and provide all the requisite documents and put it to bed and get on the with the business of the people?

Is Trump such a compulsive contrarian that he would put up snarky Twitter posts rather than use the process to exonerate himself and perhaps even elevate his stature?

Even if Trump doesn't see it, is there not at least one person in his circle who is advocating cooperation? Or are they just a bunch of ghouls and sycophants like KA Conway?

It makes no sense...
