The US is great at providing tertiary care. The costs are enormous.
The entire reason for the healthcare overhaul was to have better primary care to reduce costs. I heard the surgeon general make the case at a lecture well before the Affordable Care Act.
There literally are not enough dollars in the GDP to support the costs of healthcare in the United States moving forward.
This bill addresses that by a criminal lack of coverage to those with serious illness.
